The Creditors' Rights Group represents local, regional and nationwide creditors, banks, lending institutions, governmental service agencies and most of the major mortgage lenders regarding their creditors’ rights matters within Rhode Island and Massachusetts.

Attorneys in the Group have substantial experience representing creditors with respect to loan workouts, loan modifications, foreclosures, bankruptcies, receiverships, REO sales, evictions and home retention and loss mitigation. We also have extensive experience in complex mortgage servicing issues involving licensing, compliance, truth-in-lending, corporate structure, loan purchases and sales, and class action litigation defense.

Attorneys in the Group have a high degree of sophistication handling commercial and residential workouts and bankruptcies in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. We also specialize in the representation of financial institutions in the collection of deficiency judgments and the prosecution of suits against borrowers and/or guarantors as well as defending temporary restraining orders and lender liability claims. The Group complies with all investor fee and disbursement guidelines, including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and VA guidelines, and with all investor foreclosure timeframes. The Firm is Fannie Mae Designated Counsel for Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Additionally, the Firm is a founding member of the USFN for both Rhode Island and Massachusetts. The USFN is a national association of law firms and trustee companies that represent mortgage lenders in each of the 50 states.

Ms. Antonelli advises creditors, lending institutions, banks and mortgage companies about creditors’ rights in foreclosures, bankruptcies and collection matters and works with clients to assist in and enforce compliance with Rhode Island and Massachusetts law. She has extensive experience in bankruptcy and insolvency matters and in handling commercial and residential foreclosures and workouts. Additionally, Ms. Antonelli advises clients on issues concerning licensing and consumer compliance. She frequently represents clients with respect to licensing issues before the Rhode Island Division of Banking and the Massachusetts Division of Banks.

Ms. Antonelli is certified as a Creditors’ Rights Specialist by the American Board of Certification. She is a frequent lecturer on bankruptcy and insolvency topics and on mortgage regulatory compliance topics.
